Show 11 + Alumni

This weekend was alumni weekend. YAY ALUMNI!

I was a little worried that I was going to have an alum that made me do everything but play their music or that things were going to be one big mess. Thankfully, that didn't happen. My alum's name is Rick Wrigley. He was a music director and program director for WUSC back in the 60's. After college he went into radio and then other ventures. He was a really neat, interesting man. We had a couple pictures taken of us so hopefully I'll have those up soon.

I don't have the playlist of what he played but it was a good mix of stuff! I believe we had dance, bluegrass, jazz, latin, rock and I'm sure a few others.

All in all, it was fun and a good experience. I got to learn about what the station and USC used to be like as well as talk with someone who's actually been in the radio industry. :)

Next week on Oct. 6th I will be in Auburn AL (at AU) for a friend's b-day so I will have a sub. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Holiday Parade is a 5 piece, self-proclaimed Pop/Acoustic/Rock band from Atlanta, GA.

MySpace Sucks!

So, MySpace is dumb, and they deleted my account for my show. Why? Dunno. But the playlist for Show 6 was lost. :( Sorry guys! I'm just gonna stick to using this because I doubt it will be deleted. If so, then... eff.

Tuesday, April 24, 2007

I made a MySpace for my show. This way I can post recordings of my show (whenever I make some... which probably won't be any time soon) and still have a blog and info about what's going on at the station. Check it out, bookmark it, do what cha do.

CD Review 1

Artist: The Antarcticans
Date: 2/20/07
Title: Teach Children Fear All Teachings Of Eternity
Picks: 2, 3, 4, 5
No Play:

Genre: Rock: Experimental

As long as you listen to your program and don’t play all of 2, it’s interesting.

After track 1 the songs are too long for my taste. Sometimes the music will stop on a track, and you feel like it’s a new song, but it’s not.

Tracks remind me of: 1- music in a scary movie; 2- Kill Bill; 3- random jungle goings-on
