Fundraiser

Spoiler alert: next Wednesday is going to be my fundraiser show! Our fundraiser programming kicks off tomorrow/tonight@mid-night but the fun starts TODAY with a Zombie walk from the Russell House patio at to the Monster Mash @ Bey's in 5 Pts. Festivities and gathering starts at 4, and zombie parading starts at 5:30. Hope to see all you zombies out there!

Some local businesses are getting into the spirit as well. For instance, Pack Rat's in 5 Pts is having a Zombie Sale! Anyone dressed as a Zombie gets 20%! What a deal!

But anyways, back to my show. Our fundraiser programming is going to consist of different themes on different days. My show day, Wednesday, is world day. Thus, my show will be a French show! Oh mon dieu! If you have any suggestions for Francophone music that you'd like to hear leave me a comment and I will do my best. :)

To call in and donate during my show the number is 803-576-9872. For more information on donating, see our website.

Show 63 + Fundraiser + Interview

This week is our fundraiser week! Yay! This semester I chose to play favourites; sort of like last semester, but a little differently. In the fall we played our favourite artists and today I played some of my favourite songs that I've discovered this semester (some of them were probably last semester, but close enough) as well as had my favourite local artist, Marry a Thief, in the studio for an interview. They're be co-headlining with Sequoyah Prep School as well as playing with Last November and The Lives Of Famous Men.

With no further delay, here are some of my favourites before Big Red took over:

MGMT, Oracular Spectacular, "Kids"
Vampire Weekend, "The Kids Don't Stand a Chance (Chromeo Remix)"
Au Revoir Simone, "Sad Song (RAC Mix)"
The Ting Tings, "That's Not My Name (LA Riots Remix)"

Show 46 - FUNDRAISER SHOW!

So our fall 08 fundraiser is officially underway. We had some great events to help kick things off. On Thursday, November 6th we had a free dance party at the Whig, which was a HUGE success! On Friday, November 7th we had a rock show at New Brookland Tavern featuring the Carnivores, the Balkans, the Dead Beats, and Chaz doing some of his solo work (which was really awesome of him because we needed him to play at the last minute). And then on Sunday, November 9th we had an Americana show at Art Bar with White Rhino, Roland Jones Orchestra, Devils in Disguise, and Sons of Young.

We'll be taking on-air donations from now until the 13th so if you'd like to donate every little bit is appreciated! The number to call into the studio is 1-803-576-9872

From 12pm-12am we've changed our programming to "Playing Favourites!" Each DJ is playing 2 hours of [one of] their favourite artist! I choose Erich Skelton, a local and amazing artist! You should definitel check out his band's myspace. They're amazing! And all really nice guys. :)
